Common mistakes
❌ Yo hablar español → ✅ Yo hablo español — the infinitive is never used as a conjugated verb
❌ Yo hablé con ella ayer used for a habitual past → ✅ use imperfect hablaba for repeated/ongoing past action
❌ Hable (no accent needed check) used casually with tú → ✅ hable is the usted command; the tú command is habla
