Common mistakes
❌ Yo vivir en Madrid → ✅ Yo vivo en Madrid — the infinitive is never used as a conjugated verb
❌ Confusing -ir nosotros/vosotros endings with -er (vivemos, vivéis) → ✅ -ir takes -imos, -ís (only these two forms differ from -er)
❌ Viva used casually with tú → ✅ viva is the usted command; the tú command is vive
Summary
Regular -ir verb; stem viv- + class-3 endings across every tense
Model verb for the entire -ir class — same pattern applies to escribir, recibir, decidir, subir, and more
Only differs from -er endings in the nosotros/vosotros present (-imos/-ís vs -emos/-éis) and the infinitive/gerund/participle forms
